After great working days in Paul Pouwer's studio over summer and autumn I am happy with the final results of the mix of 15 songs. I am excited about the recordings and will make the first people listen to the results soon…. It was so good to work with Erik Rutjes, Jeroen Vierdag, Bart Fermie, Karel Boehlee and Kristina Fuchs. I can't wait until the songs can be released….! Will keep you posted….Heleen

Within a couple of months I will record a new album!  I have found a great team to record with. Erik Rutjes on guitars and Bart Fermie on percussion, musicians with whom I started the earlier Zeppelin Zone project, plus Jeroen Vierdag on bass and double bass and Karel Boehlee on piano/keys. We’ve planned to record and mix with Paul Pouwer and Tijmen Zinkhaan respectively. It fills me with joy that these supertalented and experienced men will support me in giving shape to a new set of songs this year.  Heleen

Dear singers and theatre lovers;  during this summer, 2010, I will give a course named Podiumpower (stage power) at Buitenkunst,  a creative summercamp in the Netherlands. Buitenkunst is meant for  dedicated artlovers, guided by profs. My course has been fully booked now. Like to improve your singing performance, and use beautiful musical and theatre repertoire to do so? Join the course here in Amsterdam from Jan-March 2010! No, no belting exercises or so in my course, but physical warming ups, to-the-point technical exercises, tools for text and musical interpretation, coaching of your stage performance, and useful feedback from your classmates while you learn. Heleen will perform with Robert Rook, a very versatile pianist. She will sing some songs of earlier CDs but also, and this is long ago….some good old standards! The evening starts at 20:00 with Robert accompanying Heleen, then Maudy Aupon sings a short set, then again Heleen and Robert will take over to close the evening. Check it out, welcome!

Very very happy with my first born baby girl! She’s named Vera, Vera Neske Yorien van den Hombergh in full. She was born on the second of May this year, and is growing fast…. In the photoalbum you’ll find two photos, a sleeping beauty on the 2nd day of her life on earth…and a recent one of her in red working suit..;-). An overwhelming beautiful experience to be a mother (…and hard work…) . I wrote a song for her, not recorded yet, with the lines:

"If I could sow happiness for you/ I’d search every flowershop/ For the right seed for the right soil/Work and water it every day…./But all I can do is to give you my hand, and heart, and show this land/ for you to be a sower one day, I know you’ll understand/Vera, Vera Vera! Here you are, there you go girl/ Vera Vera Vera! I love you…Sow!. 
Hope I’ll have the chance to record it with Zeppelin Zone next year. Love, Heleen
